GRP

Glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) piping systems are used for end users in different industries and power plants. GRP is often used for utility piping systems where price/performance and corrosion resistance are important. The axial and circumferential mechanical values, however, are considerably lower than for GRVE and GRE. GRP is suitable for piping systems for lower design and operational pressures.

Resins

The most frequently used unsaturated polyester resins are Synolite 1717 and Distitron.

Joining technologies

Different joining technologies are available, namely, bonded connections, (un-)restrained O-ring connections and laminated connections.
